Founded in 1990, the Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec fosters the personal growth of children and families in need by giving them the opportunity to experience a holiday camp or practice sports and leisure activities. Leucan is very fortunate to count on the generosity of the Fondation, which gave 50 teenagers affected by cancer the chance to enjoy the Leucan Winter Camp.

Held on February 10-12 at Base de plein air Bon départ de Canadian Tire in Wentworth-Nord, the Winter Camp was designed for members of the Heart-filled Hope support group. Made up of cancer-stricken teenagers and their siblings, the group’s objective is to break teens out of the isolation brought on by cancer. In addition, the Fondation’s contribution will allow those young members to take part in the Halloween Camp next October. In total, $18,000 will be donated to Leucan to host those activities.

Leucan is proud of this partnership made possible by the program Dons aux organismes de bienfaisance and would like to extend warm thanks to Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec, more specifically to Mr. Alain St-Jean, Canadian Tire dealer in Drummondville, for sponsoring the funding proposal for those two Leucan camps; Mrs. Justine Gauvin-Marchessault, Executive Director (currently on maternity leave); Mrs. Claire Rousse, Interim Executive Director; Mrs. Kim-Tien Huynh, Communications and Marketing Director; and Mrs. Martine Desjardins, Coordinator, Donations and Administrative Services.
