Thanks to the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Foundation of Quebec, 35 teenagers from Leucan’s Heart-filled Hope support group experienced a memorable weekend at the winter camp on February 9, 10 and 11. Heart-filled Hope is a group gathering cancer-stricken teenagers aged 12 to 18 and their siblings, as well as bereaved siblings. The group’s mission is to host activities where teenagers can meet between friends and talk about their lives.

Every year, the winter camp is eagerly awaited by the teens. This activity allows the teens to break from their isolation and have fun with other teens who are going through a similar situation. An activity like this one is very important to help these teens feel understood and supported through this ordeal.

Antoine Daigle, 17 years old, brother of Matis, 12 years old, stricken by a brain tumor, shares his story “During these weekends, I meet a lot of people who are going through the same difficulties I’m facing with cancer. It helps me personally through difficult moments I’m experiencing with my brother who, after a brain surgery, has physical limitations. These activities remind me that I am not alone in this moment that will affect the rest of my life, and that there is hope.”

Leucan thanks the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Foundation of Quebec for allowing teens to enjoy a winter camp despite the ordeals they are going through. The teens from the Heart-filled Hope support group are so grateful. On their behalf, thank you for your loyal support.
