The Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN) has been committed to supporting the Leucan-CSN Summer Camp for the past 27 years. To diversify and increase their involvement, they recently launched a new winter fundraiser: the “Marche-don, Cours-don”, which brought together more than 380 participants from across the province to raise funds for the Camp.
Teams of 4 to 7 people were invited to participate in this activity, where they had to raise a minimum of $500 in donations for the Camp. Two relay events were offered: a 50 km walk and a 100 km run.
The solidarity and dedication of CSN members made this first edition a great success, raising more than $135,000 for the Leucan-CSN Summer Camp.
The Leucan-CSN Summer Camp was created in 1985 and every year, thanks to the contributions of the CSN, it welcomes children with cancer, whether they are in treatment, in remission, in relapse or cured, as well as their brothers and sisters, parents and bereaved families. Supervised by several employees, volunteers and a medical team on site to meet the needs of the children, nearly 100 Leucan families can enjoy a moment of respite each summer.
Leucan is proud to be able to count on a committed partner like the CSN. The “Marche-don, Cours-don” is just one of many fundraising initiatives organized by the CSN, which has donated more than $4 million in support of Camp and the Association’s cause since 1996.
On behalf of the children who experience a memorable stay at the Camp every year, Leucan would like to express its sincere gratitude to the CSN for its generosity and dedication for the past 27 years.
