Last spring, Leucan, in collaboration with Hooké and Sépaq, launched The Force of Nature, which provides moments of respite in the outdoors for children with cancer and their families.

Imagined and implemented by two loyal Leucan volunteers from the Quebec City region, The Force of Nature campaign is based on the sale of a plaid shirt designed by Hooké, a Quebec brand known for the quality of its outdoor clothing for the whole family. Warm, comforting, and durable, this Canadian shirt, available for men, women, and children, has the look and feel of a timeless garment.

With the beginning of fall at our doors, the shirts are now back in stock in limited quantities. All profits from the sale of The Force of Nature shirt will be donated to Leucan.

Eliott’s Story

This summer, the Hooké team, in collaboration with Sépaq, went out into the wilderness to give an unforgettable experience to Eliott, 11 years old, who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. An avid fisherman, Éliott was able to go fly fishing for the first time.

We have spent several months living intensely with Elliott’s disease after all. We are starting to get back on track. We were able to benefit from many of the services that Leucan offered, but above all, they are there every day, they are there with us, so it is very, very comforting.Catherine, Eliott's mother

When we decided to get involved with Leucan, our dearest wish was to provide respite to young people with cancer and their families. Our meeting with Elliott and his family gave the project its full meaning. We were very touched by his journey and by his great resilience.

Let us introduce you to Eliott.

Eliott Savard lives in the Charlevoix region, more precisely in La Malbaie. He is 11 years old and is the second son of Catherine and Sébastien. He has an older brother, Ulysse, whom he loves more than anything in the world. Elliott is a very active young man, a and passionate traveler. Above all, he is open to discovering and learning. Independent by nature, he does not hesitate to take on challenges with his friends or family.

Elliott was living a dream life until November 2021, when doctors at CHUL diagnosed him with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Like a true champion, he does not give up and he fights because he loves his life; the one that animates him, the one that breathes, and the one that makes him dream. Eliott is very brave. He is also well surrounded, he knows that he must not give up and that no matter what the ordeal, he has all the strength and love of his family to move forward, fall and get back up.

Since this announcement, Eliott and his family have benefited from the support of a wonderful and reassuring team. Leucan has been a valuable partner ever since, from small gestures to large ones. It’s a beautiful story of closeness, suppor,t and great comfort.

When Leucan told us that Eliott was also a fishing enthusiast, it was a perfect match to go “tease” the fish as he likes to say. We had the chance to help him catch his first trout on a fly, thanks to Sépaq, and to live a memorable moment with him. We could feel the force of nature!Fred Campbell, Hooké founder
