For a seventh consecutive year, Mia is partnering up with Leucan to sell the Earrings of Hope to the benefit of the Association. Quantities are limited; 8,000 pairs will be sold and for each, $20 will go to Leucan.
This year’s ambassadors: inspiring women from various walks of life
Many thanks to Abeille Gélinas, DJ and host; Eve Salvail, DJ and model; Frédérique Guay, host; Jennifer Abel, Olympic diver; Julie Houle, host; Katerine Savard, Olympic swimmer; Marianne St-Gelais, Olympic speed skater; Marie-Christine Leblanc, host and author; Marie-Ève Janvier, singer and host; Marie-Philip Poulin, Olympic hockey player; and Vanessa Pilon, host and actress.
“We’re happy to have been able to count on Mia for all these years and grateful towards our inspiring ambassadors for participating in this magnificent campaign. Their contribution allows us to make a real difference in the lives of cancer-stricken children and their families,” says Nathalie Matte, Provincial Director, Philanthropic Development at Leucan.
A young Leucan member, spokesperson for the Earrings of Hope
Clara, a young Leucan member, is the spokesperson for the Earrings of Hope. Clara, age 4, was diagnosed with metastatic Ewing’s sarcoma when she was one and a half year old.
After years of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, last February she received a stem cell transplant. Since then, she’s been in remission and is slowly regaining her normal life.
Hope is what allows Clara and her family to hold on despite the last years’ obstacles. That’s why Clara is the perfect spokesperson for the Earrings of Hope.
New edition, new design
For its 7th edition, Mia endeavoured to create an elegant, modern and delicate earring. The adult size, $30 plus tax, is available in gold, silver, rose gold or black; the child size, sold $25 plus tax, is available in gold, silver or rose gold. For each pair sold, $20 goes to Leucan.
The sale of the Earrings of Hope will allow the Association to raise $160,000 for children with cancer and their families. They’re available online, in Mia kiosks and Leucan regional offices.
