On September 9, the Voiles en Voiles team generously opened its doors to welcome Leucan families, offering free and exclusive access to their site.
A total of 450 children and adults took advantage of the facilities on offer. A variety of activities, including an aerial course, inflatable games, rock climbing and archery, created an enchanting atmosphere in the heart of the life-size boats. The day provided families with an inclusive experience suitable for all ages and conditions, and was enjoyed by young and old alike. The day ended with a Shaved Head Challenge on site, where a number of people shaved their hair in support of children with cancer.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Voiles en Voiles and its team for their exceptional generosity towards children with cancer and their families. Their gesture goes far beyond a simple day of activities. By offering this precious moment, an unconventional activity accessible to all, they have contributed to strengthening the children’s confidence in their own abilities. Once again, a huge thank you to Voiles en Voiles for making this an unforgettable and enriching day for these families who sorely need it.
Activities adapted to the reality of the disease to break the isolation
At home, families tend to isolate themselves to protect children whose immune systems have been weakened by treatment. To counter this isolation, Leucan offers safe, supervised social and recreational activities adapted to their needs, such as a day at Voiles en Voiles. These activities also enable families to bond, share and find comfort and support from others in similar situations. All of Leucan’s activities respect the energy levels and physical capacities of the young people present, helping them to boost their self-esteem, which is often affected by the disease.
By supporting Leucan, you offer families a little respite in complete safety and the chance to forge ties and share, a vital need for them.
