This past September, Childhood Cancer Canada hosted the inaugural Clay for Kids event at the Roy Wheel Shooting Club.
Presented by National Bank, the tournament enlisted the help of the clay pigeon shooting community to raise funds for the cause of children with cancer and their families, notably through Leucan.
Thanks to the success of the event, the Foundation donated $50,000 to Leucan to support its massage therapy program offered in hospitals and at home. The beginning of a beautiful partnership. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Massage therapy: a free service for Leucan families
Leucan’s massage therapy service is offered free of charge to all family members of a child with cancer, at the hospital or at home, as well as to bereaved families. It is provided by a team of massage therapists specialized and trained in working with cancer patients and their families.
Massage therapy offers a moment of relaxation, helps reduce pain and stress, improves immune function and allows the child undergoing treatment to become comfortable with touch again despite the treatments. Click here to learn more.
