On October 10, close to 500 guests gathered at Marché Bonsecours for the Leucan Experience, presented by Olymel, the Association’s major corporate benefit event. Their generosity helped set a new record for the evening, raising $754,058.
A journey alongside Leucan families
Guests were transported into Leucan’s universe, to the core of the reality of families of children with cancer. Musical numbers based on songs that are meaningful to Leucan’s children and families punctuated the evening. Guests were taken on a journey through songs that gave them courage in the face of adversity, reminded them of their families, or allowed them to celebrate a victory.
One of the evening’s key moments was the touching testimonial offered by Andréa-Laurence and Clément, the parents of Léo, a six-year-old Leucan member in remission from liver sarcoma. By sharing their story, they transported guests to the center of their universe, in the whirlwind of the disease.
“For a child, cancer is the most dramatic thing that can happen. It’s a terrible misfortune. Through all this tragedy, Leucan has softened our son’s daily life and allowed him to enjoy his childhood by offering him moments of happiness,” said Andréa-Laurence and Clément, parents of Léo, who is in remission from liver sarcoma.
The space theme thrilled guests throughout the event. Astronauts for a night, including Marie-Mai, the Association’s godmother, were invited to take on missions related to Leucan’s universe to learn more about its services and activities. A live auction, a virtual auction and a draw once again demonstrated the great generosity of those present.

A new record
By taking off for Leucan’s universe, the guests travelled to the heart of the reality of families of children with cancer, and accepted the mission of supporting them at every stage of the disease.
“The $754,058 raised thanks to the solidarity of the guests, ambassadors and partners of the 2024 Leucan Experience will allow the 291 children who have been diagnosed with cancer or relapsed in the past year to be able to count on Leucan in the whirlwind caused by the disease. Thank you for helping us reach a new record amount in support of children with cancer,” said Juli Meilleur, Executive Director of Leucan.
The Association would like to thank its partners Olymel and A5 Hospitality, and would also like to acknowledge the commitment of Yanick Gervais, President and CEO of Olymel, as Honorary President of the Leucan Experience for a second year.
