In total, this virtual gathering and all the participants who have taken on the Challenge since the beginning of the quarantine have raised $1,063,500 for the cause. An incredible feat that Leucan and its member families want to celebrate!
Closing show hosted by Jay Du Temple
On May 31st at 5 pm, participants and supporters alike were invited to join us on the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge Facebook page for the live streaming of the Great Virtual Gathering Show hosted by Jay Du Temple. The show was an opportunity to celebrate participants for showing their solidarity through this strong and concrete gesture: shaving their heads.
A show filled with dazzling guests and emotions
The show featured several photo montages and short videos starring participants sporting their freshly shaved heads for the cause. Host Jay Du Temple carried out the transitions between video extracts and guests with humour and empathy.
The audience also enjoyed high-quality musical performances from Marie-Mai, Leucan’s godmother, and rapper Adamo who got his head and beard shaved live for the cause.
Stand-up comedians Arnaud Soly and Dominic Paquet, model Ève Salvail (who took on the Challenge live), TV host and comedian André Robitaille, member families of Leucan, and Pascale Bouchard, Executive Director of the Association, also appeared on the show.
The Great Virtual Gathering Show ended with the announcement of the total amount raised by participants in the Leucan Shaved Head Challenge since the beginning of the quarantine: $1,063,500.
On behalf of cancer-stricken children and their families, Leucan extends its warmest thanks to all participants and donors who, even in these uncertain times, chose the path of kindness and altruism. Their generosity makes it possible for Leucan to pursue its mission. Thank you!
