Leucan is pleased to announce the composition of its Board of Trustees and Governance for the year 2021-2022. The election of the new Board of Trustees and Governance was held during the Association’s virtual Annual General Meeting, this last September.

‘’ I was pleased to renew my appointment as President of the Board of Trustees because Leucan and its cause for children are particularly close to my heart. As a teenage survivor of pediatric cancer, Leucan was there for my family and me through this ordeal.’’

‘’I am the father of three beautiful young adults, Alexandre 22 years old, Justine 19 years old and Rémi 17 years old. In 2014, the disease struck our family, Rémi received a diagnosis of Acute lymphoblastic leukemia, type T. He is now in remission and healthy. From the first days of Rémi’s disease, Leucan was there to support us, on many levels.’’

‘’It is with great interest and the desire to contribute to the achievement of the goals of the organization that I joined the board of directors of Leucan in September 2021. I have three children and it is in 2015, when my daughter Laurence was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, that our family realized the importance of an organization like Leucan in supporting and accompanying children and their families afflicted by pediatric cancer.’’

‘’At the age of four, Enzo was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, but he is now in remission and doing very well. Leucan played such a crucial role in our daily life over his two years of treatment, so it’s now our family’s turn to pay it forward.’’ 

 

 

Nicolas Rouault – Managing Director, Strategy and Development, Fixed income, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec

‘’Mariana, my oldest daughter, was 13 when she passed away from a rare form of cancer. Throughout her treatment, and even today, I can appreciate the work Leucan does every day to support sick children and their families. Despite the circumstances, I feel privileged to have benefited from the Association’s support.’’

 

 

Isabelle Sicard, erg, DESC – Director of Development and Quality of Practice, Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec

‘’I am a member of the Board of directors of Leucan since 2016 and involved in the philanthropic development and communications committee. A trained occupational therapist, I have a degree in management from HEC. Member of the Institut des administrateurs de sociétés, I get involved in causes that are close to my heart.’’

Let’s highlight the important contribution of external collaborators

Committed volunteers, they are external collaborators, with whom Leucan has the opportunity to collaborate through the Philanthropic Development and Communications Committee, as well as the Services, Research and Partnerships Committee. Leucan thanks them for their dedication.

 

 

Rose-Marie Charest (CSRP) is a psychologist, author, columnist, and speaker. Initially interested in clinical work, she found a passion for disseminating psychological knowledge to a broad audience.

 

Joé Harvey (CDPC) is an experienced leader who devoted her career providing organizations with medical expertise and advisory services. She is highly mobilized, having served on several boards of directors including Leucan’s Board of Trustees as First Vice-Chair. She is also a founding member and Chair of the Édouard et ses étoiles foundation.

 

 

Yasmine Kadri (CSRP) has been a member of Leucan’s extended family for many years and she is particularly interested in survivorship and life after cancer. She will join the Services, Research, and Partnerships Committee.

 

 

Micheline Langelier (CSRP) is a member of the Ordre professionnel des travailleurs sociaux du Québec, Micheline Langelier retired from her position of Acting General Manager of Maison le Prélude. For the past year, she has been an active member of the Services, Research and Partnerships Committee.

 

Marie-France Langlet (CSRP)

In 2004, Marie-France Langlet’s then nine-year-old son was diagnosed with acute non-lymphoblastic leukemia at Sainte-Justine (CHUSJ). During her son’s journey, she got fully involved in the process and treatments. From the very beginning, she felt the need to help other families faced with the same ordeal. To this day, she continues to be greatly inspired by her son’s exemplary courage and determination.

 

Mathieu Roy (CDPC) is an advertising agency executive with more than 25 years of experience. Over the course of his career, Roy has advised the leaders of some of the leading brands in the country. He also serves on several boards of directors and recently joined Leucan’s Communications and Philanthropic Development Committee.
