About Social Life Support Services
Upon returning home, the family tends to further control outings and, unfortunately, to isolate itself because among other things the sick child’s immune system is weakened due to intensive treatment which makes him or her more vulnerable to viruses. To break this isolation, Leucan offers its protégés socio-recreational activities that are safe, supervised, and adapted to their needs and situation.
These activities also allow families to build relationships, provide mutual comfort, and support to people living similar situations, as well as giving them the possibility to mingle in a non-hospital environment. All Leucan’s activities are developed to take into account the energy level and physical capacities of the participating children, and geared to help boost their self-esteem which is often affected by the disease.
