End-of-life and Bereavement Follow-up

Leucan supports children with cancer and their families at the time of diagnosis and through all phases of the illness—during treatment, recurrences, palliative care, and terminal stage—as well as during bereavement.

Aware of the great void caused by the death of a child, Leucan has created the Lise-Godin bereavement follow-up services to offer comfort, support, and assistance to families who have lost a child, and to help break their isolation and encourage them to express their emotions. These services include various types of support:

Sharing with other persons who are in a similar situation is invaluable to families:

"It’s heart-warming to know that someone cares for you." - Doreen, bereaved mother of Trevor

"It encouraged my wife and I to share more of our emotions which aren't always in sync." - Paul, bereaved father of Jean-François

"I had the pleasure of meeting moms who continue to enjoy life even though they lost a child. They are full of living hope." - Suzanne, bereaved mother of Julie

"Taking the time to be together is the most precious gift that any family can receive." - Manon, bereaved mother of Sandra

"People understand: they’ve all gone through the same thing." - Louise, bereaved mother of Andréanne
