Since July 2008, Jean Lincourt and his organizing committee challenge Washington Capitals Dany Sabourin from Val-d’Or as well as other NHL players to the Classique de golf Dany Sabourin at the Club de golf Le Belvédère in Val-d’Or. Since its first year, nearly $46,550 have been raised through this event for Leucan. Moreover, in 2008 Dany Sabourin was the proud patron of Salon Leucan at the Val-d’Or hospital centre. The team and families of Leucan Abitibi-Témiscamingue would like to thank the RCM of La Vallée-de-l’Or Station of the Sûreté du Québec and Ambulances Val-d’Or for their generous financial contribution to the first edition of the respite camp, held in August of 2008.
